Just got the 2012 Hollywood Bowl mailer listing this year’s shows and wanted to give an early heads up about a show that might be of interest to Disney/Pixar fans.
The weekend of August 3, 4 & 5 there will be a show titled “Pixar in Concert”. Here is how the show is described in the flyer:
“From the Toy Story Trilogy to The Incredibles and Up, Pixar has forever changed filmmaking and given audiences of all ages some of the most beloved characters in cinematic history. Now, for the first time ever, the Hollywood Bowl presents “Pixar in Concert”, with visually stunning clips and memorable scores from each of Pixar’s movies (including it’s latest release, Brave), peformed live by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.”
No other details are given at this time, they usually put out more details on the shows later. I suspect that they will eventually announce some special guests or special character appearances.
At this time, only subscription series tickets are available for purchase. Tickets for individual shows will go on sale later. Thankfully, this year the Disney related Bowl show does not conflict with the D23 event, as the Fantasia show did last year. This one is the weekend before the D23 Destination D August event.
