Walt Disney World Weather Report for the June 22nd from @WDW_Weather

First things first – there is definitely a reason to keep our eyes on the tropics as I eluded to yesterday as we head into the week.  I will try to update Twitter @WDW_Weather as often as possible or needed since it is the weekend but if you are headed to Walt Disney World this weekend – bring the ponchos and umbrellas.

It unfortunately looks like we have a really good set up for showers regardless of whether a storm develops in the Gulf or not.  I’ll get that out of the way by saying two reliable models have the storm developing and two do not – so it is not a guarantee but as I write this the National Hurricane Center has development in the next 48 hours at 70 percent.  Waters are 1 degree warmer than average for this time of year and can definitely support tropical development.  Upper level winds are forecast to become more favorable as well.  One model has the storm crossing Florida Saturday while another has it waiting until Sunday while yet another has it languishing in the Gulf for a few days.  Like I said either way it looks like there will be plenty of showers and clouds through the weekend.

Temperatures will get into the mid to upper 80s today and tomorrow depending on cloud cover.  We should see enough sunshine this morning before clouds build so my advice is to get there for rope drop and enjoy it while you can.

Lows will get down into the mid 70s through the forecast period.
