Saving Mr. Banks, the upcoming film inspired by true events, will open the AFI Fest (a program of the American Film Institute) on November 7, 2013. Co-stars Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks, as well as director John Lee Hancock will be in attendance at the Opening Night Gala along with other stars from the film. The screening will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre, formerly known as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre… where almost 50 years ago in 1964, Disney’s “Mary Poppins” premiered.
