Deadline is reporting that Idris Elba, Heimdall in the Thor films, will portray Shere Kahn in Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book film. The film will be a combination of live-action and visual effects. Disney is trying to beat the production of another Jungle Book film being developed by Warner Bros. Jon Favreau directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and was previously reported to be working on a Magic Kingdom film. There has been no update on the status of that film.
