ESPN Events Announces 2014 Bowl Information

ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN, has determined the date, time and network for each the company’s 11 owned and operated bowl games for the 2014 season. The Gildan New Mexico Bowl will kick off the bowl festivities on Saturday, Dec. 20, and will conclude with the Birmingham Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Gildan New Mexico Bowl
The ninth edition of the Gildan New Mexico Bowl will be played Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2:20 p.m. ET on ESPN from University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M. The game will feature a team from the Mountain West Conference against a team from Conference USA.

Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl
The Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl is set for Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. The 23rdannual game will be played at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas and feature the top choice from the Mountain West Conference against the sixth pick from the Pac-12 Conference.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
The 18th annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl – slated for Saturday, Dec. 20, at 5:45 p.m. on ESPN – will be held at Boise State University’s Bronco Stadium. The nation’s longest running outdoor cold-weather bowl will feature a Mountain West Conference versus Mid-American Conference matchup for the second-straight year. This the second year the bowl is operating under ESPN Events.

Raycom Media Camelia Bowl
The inaugural Camellia Bowl will be played on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 9:15 p.m. on ESPN. To be played at the Cramton Bowl, the game will match the third-seeded team from the Sun Belt Conference against the fourth selection from the Mid-American Conference.

Boca Raton Bowl
The first edition of the Boca Raton Bowl is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 6 p.m. The inaugural game will be televised on ESPN and played at FAU Stadium on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. The Mid-American Conference, Conference USA and American Athletic Conference are the affiliated conferences for the Boca Raton Bowl.

Hawai‘i Bowl
The Hawai‘i Bowl will be played on Christmas Eve for the 10th time – kicking off at 8 p.m. on ESPN from Aloha Stadium. In its 13th year, the bowl will pit a team from the Mountain West against a team from Conference USA.

Heart of Dallas Bowl
The fifth annual Heart of Dallas Bowl is set for Friday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m. on ESPN, at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium on the grounds of Fair Park. This year’s bowl game is slated to feature teams from Conference USA and the Big Ten Conference. This the second year the bowl is operating under ESPN Events.

Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl
The Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl will be played Friday, Dec. 26, at 8 p.m. on ESPN. In its first-year with new conference affiliation, the game showcases team’s from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the American Athletic Conference from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl
The AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl is set for Monday, Dec. 29, at 9 p.m. on ESPN. The game will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston and features teams from the Big 12 and the SEC.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl
The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl will be played on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at noon on ESPN. The 12th edition of the postseason college football bowl game will kick off at noon from Amon G. Carter Stadium on the campus of TCU, in Fort Worth, Texas. This year’s Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl is slated to feature a team from the American Athletic Conference versus the U.S. Military Academy (Army), pending bowl eligibility.

Birmingham Bowl
The ninth annual Birmingham Bowl will be played Saturday, Jan. 3, at 1 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2. Played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., the game will pit a team from the American Athletic Conference against a team from the Southeastern Conference.
