Last Two Maker Studios Founders Leave Company

According to Re/Code, Siblings Lisa and Ben Donovan have left Maker Studios following the company’s acquisition by Disney. They founded the company with Danny Zappin who is now suing the company after claiming the Disney deal devalued his ownership. An email from the company announced the departure of the Donovans, “Lisa and Ben have left the company. They will always be an important part of the Maker family. We are forever grateful for their pioneering vision in founding the company five years ago that has since become the world’s leading provider of online video content for millennials. Lisa and Ben are among the most creative people we know and we wish them all the best.” While the Donovan’s were on the company’s board before it was acquired, they no longer had an active role with the company at the time of their departure.
