ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2 To Broadcast the Little League World Series

ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 will combine to present all 32 games of the 2014 Little League World Series presented by Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes from Williamsport, Pa., August 14-24, at Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium. ABC will broadcast five games from Williamsport, including the International Championship and the United States Championship on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 12:30 p.m. ET and 3:30 p.m., respectively. ABC will then broadcast the Little League World Series Championship on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m. ESPN and ESPN2 will combine to televise 27 Little League World Series games in Williamsport, beginning with four games Thursday, Aug. 14.

Commentators

  • Baseball Tonight analyst and Hall of Famer Barry Larkin will join Karl Ravech, analyst Nomar Garciaparra and reporter Jaymee Sire for all five ABC games, including the World Series Championship, United States Championship and International Championship;
  • Ravech and Dave Flemming will rotate play-by-play duties throughout the Little League World Series with Larkin, Garciaparra, Kyle Peterson and Chris Burke serving as analysts;
  • SportsCenter’s Jay Crawford and Chris McKendry will each call games from the booth; Crawford will join Peterson for games on Monday, Aug. 18, at 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 12 p.m. while McKendry will join Peterson for the Third Place Consolation Game on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m.

SportsCenter

  • SportsCenter will air live from Williamsport, Pa. on Monday, Aug. 18, and Tuesday, Aug. 19, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. hosted by Crawford and McKendry;
  • SportsCenter will also provide daily, on-site updates throughout the entire tournament with coverage led by Crawford, McKendry and Ravech.

Additional Highlights

  • League Web Gems/World Series Preview presented by Subway will highlight the tournament’s best defensive plays and preview the Little League World Series Championship, on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. McKendry will host the show with Peterson;
  • Vignettes in celebration of Little League’s 75th Anniversary will feature current and former Major League Baseball players, professional athletes and notable figures looking back at key moments throughout Little League history;
  • A special feature on Little League creator Carl Stotz will run between games on Saturday, Aug. 23;
  • ESPN will debut a new Little League World Series telecast open, which features a summer camp theme set to the band 1985’s popular “Summer Forever” track;
  • A new TrussCam will be positioned on a trolley beyond the outfield wall at Lamade Stadium to capture sweeping shots of action;
  • “Wired” segments with coaches and umpires will provide unique insight and instant reaction;
  • ESPN.com’s Little League World Series page will be updated with scores, results and game stories;
  • Viewers can join the conversation on social media platforms using #LLWS and #LittleLeague75.

ESPN International

ESPN International will televise select Little League World Series games from Williamsport throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and the Pacific Rim. Games airing in Latin America will be voiced in Spanish by ESPN Deportes commentators Guillermo Celis, Fernando Alvarez, Eduardo Varela and Pablo Viruega.
