Marvel Studios No Longer Reports to Marvel Head

Marvel Studios will no longer report to Marvel head Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, but instead report to Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn. It is reported that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, had grown weary of the notoriously frugal Perlmutter who brought Marvel out of bankruptcy and sold the organization to Disney while maintaining control of the group.

It is also reported that Feige has a good working relationship with Horn. In addition to Feige, Horn manages Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and both animation studios run by Ed Catmull and John Lasseter.

“Marvel Studios is taking the next logical step in its integration with The Walt Disney Studios, joining Pixar and Lucasfilm in centralizing many of its film-related functions in Burbank, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito continuing to lead the Marvel Studios team reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn,” a Disney spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

Perlmutter remains in charge of Marvel’s publishing, live-action, and animation divisions.
