Hamilton Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in Talks to Join New Mary Poppins Film

Big potential casting news for the Mary Poppins sequel/remake/reboot as we may have found our next Dick Van Dyke. According to The Wrap, Lin-Manuel Miranda — creator of the massively popular Broadway show, Hamilton — is in talks to join the project.

Miranda would star opposite Emily Blunt who is set to play Mary. His role would be that of Jack the lamplighter who is said to be akin to Bert in the original film.

Miranda has already been signed to write the music for Moana, Disney’s animated featuring coming later this year.
