The OC Register is reporting that Jon Storbeck has been named as the new vice president and general manager of Knott’s Berry Farm, which is owned by amusement park operator Cedar Fair. He replaces Raffi Kaprelyan who was promoted to regional vice president of Cedar Fair Entertainment.

Most recently Storbeck was vice president of hotels and Downtown Disney as the Disneyland Resort. He was also vice president of Disneyland Park for nine years. He left the Disneyland Resort in January after a thirty-year career.

Storbeck will be reunited with Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet who was previously president of the Disneyland Resort.

“Growing up in Orange County, I’ve gone to Knott’s since I was a kid,” Storbeck said. “I love the theme of the Old West and look forward to continuing the momentum.”

OC Register also reported that Storbeck is interested in improving the park’s themeing as well as growing the park’s audience with both locals and tourists.
