Florida Record is reporting that a mother is suing Disney Cruise Line as she alleges that her child was injured on a cruise ship because of a raised portion of a stair, which caused the child to catch her shoe and fall.

Martha Lynch filed a complaint on August 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on August 25, 2015, her minor child was injured on the theater stairs aboard defendant’s vessel. As a direct result, plaintiff’s child allegedly suffered physical and mental anguish, disability, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life and incurred medical expenses.

The complaint claims that Disney Cruise Line is responsible because they failed to inspect and maintain premises and failed to warn passengers of hazardous areas.

We do not know which of the Disney ships the incident occured on.
