Festival of Fantasy Choreography at the Heart of WDW Union Debate

Walt Disney World is currently embroiled in a debate with the union that represents the resort’s performers over the classification of some of the Cast Members in the Festival of Fantasy. According to The Orlando Sentinel, Local 385 says that some of the performers in the parade should be categorized as dancers and receive “mover pay” which would mean an extra $.50 an hour. Specifically the performers in question are the Cha Bingo Girls and Bubble Girls.

“They are doing intricate footwork. They have to be a skilled dancer in order to do this,” said Donna-Lynne Dalton. Meanwhile she says that Disney maintains that the performers are doing a “stylized walk.”

The case is currently in arbitration and so Disney will not comment at this time, according to the Sentinel.
