Last year when Disneyland upgraded the Matterhorn they removed a tribute intended to honor former Walt Disney Company President Frank Wells. Now that tribute has returned to the attraction while the rest of the changes made last year have remained.

Frank Wells was President of The Walt Disney Company from 1984 to 1994. Wells had the goal of climbing the Seven Summits — the highest mountain on each continent. He was able to complete six of the seven. The original tribute was installed following his death in 1994 which was the result of a helicopter crash following a ski trip to Nevada.
