The Reedy Creek Improvement District, the governmental body that oversees Walt Disney World, has announced plans to build a third garage. Reedy Creek previously built, and currently operates the two garages at Disney Springs (Orange and Lime).
The new garage will be located across Buena Vista Drive behind the Speedway gas station and the Casting building which is currently home to a cast member parking lot. The new structure will be able to house 2,000 cast and guest cars. Guests, cast, and employees will be able to access Disney Springs through the recently constructed pedestrian bridges.
Construction will begin in 2017 with the hopes of opening the structure in 2019.
