Are the Osborne Lights Moving to Branson, Missouri?

Walt Disney World fans were heartbroken last year when the resort announced that the beloved Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights would not be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios following their 2015-2016 season run (you can see the finally moments of its WDW run in the video below). Now it seems that the famous display may be relocating to another theme park outside of the Disney world.

As BransonChristmas.info notes, a video posted on the Facebook page for Silver Dollar City includes a slide announcing that the park will add another 1.5 million lights to their already impressive collection beginning in 2017. What’s interesting is the image seems to resemble the Osborne display.

So could this actually be the Osborne Lights? Beyond the artwork, there’s also reason to believe they are considering Branson, Missouri’s proximity to the Osborne family’s home state of Arkansas. Hopefully more will be revealed next year when the new lights — whatever they may be — make their debut at Silver Dollar City.

UPDATE: Scott Gustin spoke to Director of Publicity for Silver Dollar City and Herschend Family Entertainment, Lisa Rau, on the phone today and she denied that the park had acquired the Osborne Lights. “No, we have not acquired the Osborne Lights. We travel all over the world looking for inspiration for the things we do at all of our properties… but no direct inspiration came from the Osborne Lights at Disney.”
