Based upon block-out dates for Cast Member Main Entrance Passes, it appears that Pandora – The World of Avatar will be opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the end of May. Cast Members are given passes that allow them to bring in their friends & family to the parks, however the passes are blocked out on days of anticipated high attendance. These passes will not be valid at Disney’s Animal Kingdom from May 20 through the end of the month, and possibly beyond. As Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the only park blocked out, it is expected that this restriction is in place due to the anticipated opening of the Avatar project.
It should be noted that plans might changes as Rivers of Light, which was announced to open in April 2016, has yet to debut.
