We are now just a few months away from the grand opening of Pandora – the World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While guests are undoubtedly excited about this expansion (and its effect on the operating hours of the park), some have wondered how this land based on a fictional property will fit into Animal Kingdom and its values. Today, the Disney Parks Blog shared a new video featuring famed Imagineer Joe Rohde discussing that very topic:
In the video, Rohde explains the design philosophy behind both Pandora and the rest of the park. For example, he discusses emphasizing the intrinsic value of nature, exploring the idea that guests can be transformed through adventure, and inspiring guests to understand and respect the nature that exists in our world.
The Parks Blog also promises that this clip will be the first in a series as the countdown to the Pandora — the World of Avatar continues, so stay tuned.
