espnW Launches Free Cookies Podcast with Kate Fagan and Kathryn Budig

Today, espnW in conjunction with ESPN Audio is debuting a new podcast, Free Cookies, in which espnW writer Kate Fagan, who often appears on SportsCenter and a variety of ESPN studio programs, and best-selling author and yoga expert Kathryn Budig will co-host and interview guests from the worlds of sports and more.  The announcement was made today at the espnW: Women + Sports, Chicago conference by espnW and ESPN The Magazine editor-in-chief Alison Overholt.  In the premiere episode, the two speak to soccer star Abby Wambach.

Fagan and Budig – who are partners in a relationship – will discuss a wide range of topics, including sports, fitness, wellness and lifestyle with a guest each week.  The goal is to present to listeners an unexpected treat – hearing a different side of even well-known personalities….the equivalent of “free cookies.”

Fagan, who joined ESPN in 2012, is an espnW writer and columnist, with stories also appearing on ESPN.com and in ESPN TheMagazine.  In addition, she is a panelist on Around the Horn, and a regular on First Take, Outside the Lines and other TV shows. She came to ESPN from the Philadelphia Inquirer where she covered the 76ers for three seasons.  She played on the University of Colorado basketball team from 1999-2004.

Budig, a longtime yoga instructor has, authored The Women’s Big Book of Yoga and Am True and writes for The Huffington Post and Yahoo!.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, she has appeared on the cover of Yoga Journal and Yoga International, among others.
