Movies Anywhere Launches with Disney, Four Other Hollywood Studios

Earlier this week, it was reported that Disney had closed a deal to bring several studios into their Disney Movies Anywhere product. Now that change has been confirmed as Fox, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros. will join Disney for a new offering called Movies Anywhere. Like with DMA, Movies Anywhere will allow users to connect their various digital movie accounts such as Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes and/or Vudu accounts and house their movie collections under one app. Additionally, the Movies Anywhere app will allow films to play on a number of devices.

With the launch of Movies Anywhere, Disney Movies Anywhere will be phased out. However, current DMA users can simply log into Movies Anywhere with their existing DMA account information to access their movie library.

To celebrate the launch, new users can add up to five free movies— including Disney’s hit animated film Big Hero 6 and titles from the other participating studios — to their Movies Anywhere collection by connecting their first two qualifying digital retailer accounts. Movies Anywhere is now available at MoviesAnywhere.com
