ESPN President John Skipper has cancelled Barstool Van Talk after one airing. He released the following statement:
Effective immediately, I am cancelling Barstool Van Talk.
While we had approval on the content of the show, I erred in assuming we could distance our efforts from the Barstool site and its content.
Apart from this decision, we appreciate the efforts of Big Cat and PFT Commenter. They delivered the show they promised.
When the show was announced, ESPN described the broadcast as featuring original digital shorts, guest interviews and comedy sketches.
The series was controversial as the site which the show was an extension of, is known for its off-color content.
