Various reports indicate that Cyrus (Joshua Rush) on Andi Mack will realize that he has feelings for Andi’s love interest Jonah (Asher Angel). Throughout the show’s second season, Cyrus will begin to understand his feelings.

Andi Mack is a story about ‘tweens’ figuring out who they are,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said in a statement. “Terri Minsky, the cast and everyone involved in the show takes great care in ensuring that it’s appropriate for all audiences and sends a powerful message about inclusion and respect for humanity.”

This is the first time Disney Channel has featured an LGBT main character but a lesbian couple appeared on an episode of Good Luck Charlie as the parents of a child on a playdate with Charlie.

The show has hinted that Cyrus had feelings for Jonah during the first season including a moment in the season finale that left little to question. After stating that you know someone has feelings for you if they look back after they pass you, Cyrus turns around to look at Jonah after he passed by.

The show’s second season will debut on October 27, 2017. You can see our earlier interview with Joshua Rush here.
