Pixar Pier Details Revealed, Including “Incredibles”-Themed Coaster

Last week, Disney revealed more details about the Pixar Fest celebration coming to the Disneyland Resort next year. Now, the Disney Parks Blog is offering more information on the permanent addition to Disney California Adventure coming around that same time: Pixar Pier. Perhaps the biggest reveal in this announcement is confirmation that California Screamin’ will be rethemed to The Incredibles and be named the Incredicoaster. This experience will open in Summer 2018.

Beyond the current Toy Story Midway Mania area, Inside Out will be the theme for a new family-friendly attraction that will open at a later date. Meanwhile, although Mickey’s Fun Wheel will update its gondolas to include different Pixar characters, the head mouse will still appear on the front of the attraction. Naturally, all of the boardwalk games will also be rethemed while Ariel’s Grotto and the Cove Bar will become a new lounge and grill.

To accommodate these changes, California Screamin’, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, the Games of the Boardwalk, Sideshow Shirts, Ariel’s Grotto, and the Cove Bar will close on January 8th. However, the Cove Bar will reopen temporarily in April before closing permanently to make way for the new concept.

As for Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, these attractions will now be part of Paradise Park — separate from Pixar Pier.
