Cast Members Claims He Was Discriminated Against Due to Moroccan Nationality

A former cast member is suing Disney claiming that he was discriminated against due to his Moroccan nationality. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Abderrahmane Sebti was a premium and special events coordinator at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. He had been with Disney since 1989 until he was terminated in 2014. The reason of his termination was not released. He is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

Sebti says he was prevented from praying during his Ramadan fast and that he was passed up on promotions. He also said he found a noose at work, which was reported to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. According to OCSO, the incident was “unfounded,” meaning that no truth to the allegations or there was no proof of a crime. No arrests were made.

In a statement to the paper Disney said, ““We have not been formally served with the complaint and will respond as appropriate in court.”
