CNN’s Jeff Zucker Reportedly Being Considered for ESPN Job

Last month, ESPN president John Skipper shocked many by resigning his position, citing substance addiction issues for his decision. Since then, Disney has been looking for a replacement and their search has reportedly sent them in the direction of CNN. According to Deadline, CNN president Jeff Zucker is being considered by Disney to head ESPN and has been in conversation with the company. As the site notes, Zucker has found success at CNN, building the network’s digital offerings and finding on-air talent. Incidentally, Zucker has previously worked under the Disney banner, serving as executive producer of Katie Couric’s syndicated daytime talk show Katie. Deadline could not reach representatives from Disney for comment.
