Animator, Voice Actor Bud Luckey Passes Away at 83

Animator, early Pixar employee, and voice actor Bud Luckey passed away this weekend at the age of 83. Over the course of his career, Luckey would help design the iconic character of Woody for Toy Story, animate cartoons on Sesame Street, and voice characters like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh, Rick Dicker in The Incredibles, and Chuckles the clown in Toy Story 3. He also wrote, directed, narrated, voiced, sung, and composed the Pixar short film Boundin’, for which he earned an Oscar nomination. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Luckey suffered an extended illness and was at a hospice facility in Newtown, Connecticut when he passed. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the California Institute of the Arts where there is a scholarship fund in his name.
