“Solo: A Star Wars Story” Set to Premiere at Cannes

UPDATE: Cannes has confirmed that Solo: A Star Wars Story will indeed screen at the festival on May 15th. This makes it the third Star Wars film to appear at the festival following Attack of the Clones in 2002 and Revenge of the Sith in 2005.

Deadline is reporting that Solo: A Star Wars is slated for a surprise opening at the Cannes Film Festival this spring. The movie directed by Ron Howard is scheduled to open in the United States on May 25th. According to this report, the festival roster is still in the finalization process and nothing official has been announced, but Solo could potentially have a screening on May 15th.
