PETA has named Disneyland America’s Most Vegan-Friendly Amusement Park. The animal rights activism group found the park’s menus to have the best vegan-friendly offerings for guests.

What’s happening:

  • Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California has been named America’s Most Vegan-Friendly Amusement Park by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA.
  • In a recent press release the animal rights organization says: Disneyland now has so many meat-, egg-, and dairy-free options that PETA has named it America’s “Most Vegan-Friendly Amusement Park.”
  • The organization points out that restaurants throughout the park offer such foods as:
    • Egg-free Mickey-shaped waffles
    • Vegan gumbo served in a bread bowl
    • BBQ jackfruit and portobello Philly sandwiches
    • Vegan sorbet dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkles
  • PETA was so pleased with the many animal-free options available at the resort that they asked vegan teen Disney star Aubrey Miller to help them film this video guide for their website:

What they’re saying:

  • PETA Director of Student Campaigns and Influence Rachelle Owen: “Disneyland has become the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ for young vegans.”

Other vegan-friendly amusement parks:

  • Vegan-friendly amusement parks that received honorable mentions on PETA’s list are:
    • Epcot in Florida
    • Universal Studios Hollywood
    • Cedar Point in Ohio

If you didn’t know:

  • Folks who live a vegan lifestyle do not use or consume animal products or by-products including but not limited to:
    • Wool
    • Honey
    • Leather
    • Eggs
    • Dairy products
    • Meat
    • Fish
  • PETA offers another positive approach for Disneyland fans saying, “going vegan would afford Disneyland revelers the time to enjoy many more photo ops with Mickey, since eating meat and other animal-derived foods has been conclusively linked to a higher risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.”
