Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa just got even more magical. The Disney Parks Blog has announced that the resort has introduced two new programs that will offer guests up-close encounters with exotic marine life at Rainbow Reef.

  • The first of the two new experiences is called Underwater Explorers and it allows guests to see colorful marine life, like butterflyfish, angelfish, surgeonfish, tangs and perhaps even the Menehune.
  • This new experience is geared toward those who want to try scuba diving but are not scuba-certified.
  • Underwater Explorers will begin with a 25-minute lesson on the basics of scuba equipment, diving and safety procedures before providing the opportunity to practice those dive skills.
  • After all of that, guests will enjoy a free swim through Rainbow Reef.
  • Underwater Explorers is ideal for scuba beginners ages 10 and up.
  • The experience includes:
    • Use of mask, fins and a wetsuit
    • A complimentary flask
    • Rainbow Reef fish ID card to take home
    • Video of your experience
  • The cost of this new experience is $189 per person plus tax.

  • The second new experience is The Rainbow Reef Fish Feeding Experience, which is a fun way for guests to have an up-close interaction with the many tropical fish who call the reef home.
  • The experience will begin with a brief introduction of the fishes in Rainbow Reef from Aulani’s animal programs biologists.
  • Guests will learn about the differences between all of these different species, including what they eat.
  • After learning about them, guests will have the opportunity to feed the fish themselves while standing on the Rainbow Reef walkway.
  • The Rainbow Reef Fish Feeding Experience takes about 15 minutes and costs just $7 per person.

  • Both of the new experiences are available now at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
