Broadway’s “Frozen,” “Aladdin,” and “The Lion King” Cancel Performances Due to NYC Power Outage

Tonight, the Great White Way is dark, leading three Disney Theatrical Productions to cancel performances.

  • Due to a power outage affecting New York City, Broadway’s The Lion King, Frozen, and Aladdin have all announced that tonight’s shows will be cancelled.
  • In tweets sent from each production’s official Twitter account, they advise that staff are handing out cancellation slips at their respective theatres.
  • They add that ticketholders can contact also them with any additional questions.
  • According to CNN, there are currently more than 40,000 people without electricity in Manhattan, with outtages also impacting businesses and several of the city’s subway lines.
  • Incidentally, the blackout comes exactly 42 years after another major outtage hit the city.
