As announced earlier this week, Disney’s Animal Kingdom introduced a new scavenger hunt based on Disney’s live-action remake of the animated classic The Lion King. We got the opportunity to check out this fun new activity today.
SPOILER WARNING – If you’re planning to do The Lion King Scavenger Hunt yourself and don’t want the answers spoiled, stop reading now.
- Guests can pick up a map and a set of stickers at Outpost, Discovery Trading Company, Island Mercantile, and Mombasa Marketplace.
- Some of your favorite characters from The Lion King are hidden throughout Harambe Village in the Africa area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- The map gives you a general location for each character. Some are spot on while others are more of just a general location.
- Some of the characters are easy to spot as soon as you look, while others are much more difficult. Pro tip, most cast members in the area will be more than happy to give you a helpful hint.
- Once you find one, add the corresponding sticker to your map to track your progress until you’ve found all 10 (or at least nine so you can see the last sticker goes, like we did).
- The whole hunt took us about a half hour. Numbers 6 and 7 took us the longest to find, but eventually we got there.
- Guests can then return their map to Mombasa Marketplace in Harambe or the Outpost Shop in the Oasis by September 28 to receive a “savanna surprise.”
- That surprise will be a choice of one of three magnets themed to The Lion King.
- The three magnets feature young Simba, Mufasa and Simba or Rafiki, as well as a colorful design on a wood background.
- Each magnet is unique are they are all cut differently.
- You can check out The Lion King Scavenger Hunt at Disney’s Animal Kingdom now through September 28.
