Disney Channel Sets Cast for “Upside-Down Magic” DCOM

Disney Channel has reportedly announced the cast of their upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) Upside-Down Magic, according to Deadline.

  • Upside-Down Magic is based on The New York Times bestselling fantasy fiction children’s books of the same name from authors Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle, and Emily Jenkins.
  • The announcement of the cast comes in conjunction with the beginning of production on the new DCOM.
  • The movie focuses on 13-year-old Nory Boxwood Horace and her best friend Reina Carvajal who each discover they have magical abilities and enter Sage Academy for magical studies.
  • The movie will be led by newcomer Izabela Rose and Siena Agudong (No Good Nick).
  • They will be joined by:

    • Alison Fernandez (Once Upon a Time)

  • Upside-Down Magic is written by Nick Pustay (Ramona and Beezus) and Josh Cagan (Kim Possible) with Suzanne Farwell (The Holiday, Something’s Gotta Give) and Susan Cartsonis (Descendants 3, The Duff) executive producing.
  • Joe Nussbaum (Just Add Magic, Gabby Duran & The Unsittables), will also executive produce as well as direct.
  • The Disney Channel Original Movie is currently set to premiere next summer.
