ABC Reportedly Cancels “Grand Hotel” After One Season

Turns out the hotel may not have been so grand afterall. ABC is reportedly cancelling its new drama series Grand Hotel after just one season, according to Deadline.

  • The series debuted back in June and ran for 13 episodes on ABC, ending its first and only season on September 9.
  • According to Deadline, ABC’s President of Entertainment Karey Burke hinted at this cancellation in August, saying “We’re going to wait until the end of its run. It’s a show we like a lot. It’s a show that I wish the ratings were a bit stronger but we’ll make that decision after its run.”
  • Grand Hotel starred Demian Bichir and Roselyn Sanchez and was executive produced by Eva Longoria.
  • The series was written by Brian Tanen and was set in a Miami Beach hotel and focused on the family who owns it, the staff who run it and the secrets they all keep.
  • Tanen also executive produce alongside Longoria and Ben Spector via UnbeliEVAble, Ramon Campos and Teresa Fernandez-Valdes for ABC Studios.
  • The series also starred:
    • Denyse Tontz
    • Bryan Craig
    • Wendy Raquel Robinson
    • Lincoln Younes
    • Shalim Ortiz
    • Anne Winters
    • Chris Warren
    • Feliz Ramirez
    • Justina Adorno
  • Mack’s review of the series after its pilot episode in June may have pointed toward the series heading to this kind of unfortunate fate.
