The Holiday Snowflakes at Disney's Animal Kingdom Feature More Magic Than Meets the Eye

The holiday season is in full swing at Walt Disney World and the decorations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom feature a little extra magic this year.

The holiday decorations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this year feature handmade snowflakes woven into garland and wreaths in Discovery Island.
These snowflakes were made with care by the talented artisans from a vocational nonprofit organization, Augusta Training Shop, which employs adults with disabilities, helping them to discover their abilities and lead self-sufficient lives.
The artisans who made these snowflakes were recently invited to Walt Disney World to see their work on display for thousands of Guests to enjoy this holiday season.
The snowflakes can be seen lining the shops and buildings in Discovery Island located near the front of the park as Guests head toward the Tree of Life.

More on the holiday celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

In Discovery Island, guests will experience a celebration of winter, with sparkling white holiday decorations, and animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops.
During the day, Discovery Island will feature a holiday gathering of winter animals with artisan-sculpted puppets, including reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more.
At night, the Tree of Life Awakens projection show will feature a new series of wintry tales, complete with a holiday-inspired musical score.
In Asia, guests will celebrate Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India, as the residents of Anandapur will decorate the theatre district with glowing flowers, lanterns and more.
Guests will also find some new decor in the Africa section of the park.
In DinoLand, U.S.A., guests can hear some of their favorite holiday tunes from Truck-O-Saurus and see some of their favorite characters dressed in their holiday best.
And finally, Pandora – The World of Avatar will also see some holiday cheer as the ex-pats living and working there will decorate their home with some kitschy holiday décor at Pongu Pongu.
