The Disneyland Resort recently celebrated seven Cast Members who marked 50 years of service in 2020 and one who marked 55 years with an award ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

What’s Happening:

  • On Friday, April 23, Disneyland Resort celebrated Cast Members reaching service milestones of 50 and 55 years for the company with an award ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
  • Disney Parks Blog shared a video and some photos from the special ceremony.
  • Those celebrating 50 years of service include: Bob Rambaud (Safety Services), David Gifford (Night Custodial – retired), Diane Alvarez (Vacation Planner), Jan Fleener (Vacation Planner), Jim Vash (Entertainment – retired), Kristy Stephenson (Parking), Leanna Shibata (Vacation Planner), Malou Park (Parking), Mike Barry (Hungry Bear busser – retired), and Richard Ruiz (Main Street busser). Celebrating 55 years is Larry Snow (Custodial). Laughing Place congratulates all of them for their incredible service at the Disneyland Resort.

  • Larry Snow, who’ll be marking 56 years at Disneyland Custodial in May, was given a specially designed statuette featuring Disney characters around his photo.
  • Larry talked about how he was hired by Walt Disney at a group interview in 1965 and ended up catching his cold: “Walt had a terrible cold at the time and I came down with a cold almost immediately after. The guys in my fraternity were impressed that I caught a cold from Walt Disney!”
  • Before the ceremony, the honorees and their guests were able to take a ride on the newly reimagined Snow White’s Enchanted Wish attraction.

What They’re Saying:

  • Ken Potrock, Disneyland Resort President: “The Disney magic is truly about our cast members. Legacy is something we talk a lot about here at the Disneyland Resort, but legacy comes from our cast members and our culture and the fact that we really do believe in what we’re trying to do, which is to make people happy. Thank you for creating magic in so many people’s lives.”
