It has been a long time coming, but finally, the Disneyland Resort reopened to Guests as many waited in the early morning to be one of the first to enter the park.
The day started at Mickey & Friends parking where it was initially supposed to open at 6:00 am, but started moving around 6:25 with the cheer of car horns.
After a security check, we were able to start heading toward the park walking through the tram route which is being used as queue space as Guests lined up for entry.
While waiting, many were able to get Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance boarding groups with cheers heard all around.
Guests were told that the parks would start opening at 8:00 as Cast Members welcomed us back.
Walking through the park was an incredible experience as Cast Members lined the streets of Main Street, U.S.A. welcoming everyone back.
At the end of the street, Disney CEO Bob Chapek was taking everything in while also greeting Guests.
We’ve certainly missed this view of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The Fantasyland Churro Cart had some reopening novelties available like the Purple Poison Apple Stein and Mickey & Minnie Straw and Clip available to purchase.
Water fountains were also fully operational throughout the park.
To meet safety standards, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is using the exterior queue for Guests so they aren’t indoors. They are also having Guests bypass the pre-show room with Rey and BB-8.
The Haunted Mansion Pet Cemetery was looking better than ever.
Over at Splash Mountain, two new screens have been placed outdoors so Guests have more space to spread out to see their photos.
Characters have also been out meeting Guests around the park.
Carnation Cafe is being used as an extended queue while the restaurant is temporarily unavailable.
Outdoor seating has been placed along the Rivers of America, giving Guests an incredible view, with some space to eat and relax while staying physically distant.
