Universal Studios Japan Will Continue to Remain Closed After State of Emergency Extension

Universal Studios Japan sent out an update stating that the park will continue to remain closed due to the extension of the state of emergency for Osaka Prefecture now slated to go through May 31.

What’s Happening:

  • Universal Studios Japan temporarily closed starting on April 25, 2021, due to the state of emergency issued for Osaka Prefecture.
  • The state of emergency was set to end on May 11, but has been extended to May 31 and added Aichi Prefecture and Fukuoka Prefecture to the list which includes Tokyo, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto.
  • Universal Studios Japan will announce a reopening date once it has been decided after the state of emergency is lifted.
  • Instructions for those who previously purchased tickets will be listed on their official website.
  • Universal Studios Japan temporarily closed last year from February 29 through June 7, 2020, due to COVID-19 and reopened on June 8, 2020.
