Walt Disney World Adjusts Face Mask Policies, No Longer Requiring Them to Be Worn Outdoors Starting May 15

After Universal Orlando announced a change to their facemask policy earlier today, Disney decided to make some adjustments to their policy as well, as Walt Disney World will not require face masks to be worn while outdoors starting tomorrow, May 15.

What’s Happening:

  • Walt Disney World has announced that face coverings will no longer be required while outdoors starting tomorrow, Saturday, May 15.
  • Guests will be required to wear face masks at all indoor locations, throughout entire attraction experiences starting from the entrance of the queue through the exit, while using Walt Disney World Transportation, and theaters.

Orange County COVID-19 Updates:

  • Orange County, the home of both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, offered an update on COVID-19 today, during which Mayor Demings said that 50% of the county’s population (ages 16 and up) have now received at least one dose of the vaccine.
  • This crosses the county into phase 2 of their plan to ease their mask mandate.
