Marvel Shares New Details on the Story of Avengers Campus

Today marks the opening of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure and guests are flocking to the new land. But do you know why Avengers Campus is where it is? Marvel shared some new details on the story behind Avengers Campus.

Long before this land was occupied by Avengers Campus, it was home to a sanctum of the mystical sorcerers known as the Vishanti. Today, the sanctum sits in ruins but it still has some magical powers.
And that power drew the eye of Howard Stark, who established a Stark Motors facility on the land.
Walt Disney Imagineer Brent Strong explained what Howard was using this land for:
- “Before Avengers Campus was a place to inspire and empower the next generation of heroes, this land all used to belong to Howard Stark. He was using this area to build his flying cars, and if you look around, you can see lots of details that harken back to that era.”
Guests can even find parking spaces marked “H. STARK” and “E. JARVIS” around the land.
The Strategic Scientific Reserve, a precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D., eventually moved in to study the temporal anomaly connected to this land as well.

After inheriting the land from his father, Tony Stark turned the Stark Motors building into the WEB headquarters and invited young scientific minds, like Peter Parker, to utilize the space.
With so many young scientists moving in, Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne eventually decided to open the Pym Test Kitchen nearby to help keep them fed.
Using an idea from Scott’s daughter Cassie, the pair uses Pym Particles to shrink and grow the food to suit their needs.
And with all of this action going on in one space, of course the Collector heard about this land and decided to relocate his The Tivan Collection from Knowhere to Avengers Campus.
His massive fortress has clearly impacted the land around it, with an oozing, glowing liquid spilling out from the building.
