Walt Disney World Resort is the host to several special events and activities throughout the year making this one truly special destination for all ages.
Ready, set, go! Runners and joggers of all skill levels can be a part of the biggest and most magical races hosted at Walt Disney World. Whatever their personal goal, guests can register for 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon (January only), races at the Happiest Place on Earth and experience for themselves how “every mile is magic.” Each weekend is sure to be fun for the whole family whether they choose to race or be spectators. Kids races are also available, but sell out quickly.

Disney After Hours
Ever wish you could have the Magic Kingdom all to yourself? With the Disney After Hours event, you’ll enjoy the next best thing as you and a limited number of guests experience many of the park’s attractions for hours after everyone else has gone home. Your ticket will also entitles you ice cream treats, popcorn, and bottled drinks during your after hours adventure. You’ll be amazed at how much you can conquer in one night during these special hard ticket events.

Incredible Summer — Summer 2018
It’s set to be an Incredible Summer at Walt Disney World! This year, the resort will be bringing new entertainment and attractions to all four parks and even unveiling an all new land: Toy Story Land. So whether you want to save the day with your favorite superhero family, dance to some awesome Guardians of the Galaxy music in Epcot, become a Wilderness Explorer in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or step into the world of Toy Story, there’s something special waiting for you at Walt Disney World this summer.
Mickey’s Holiday Parties
Mickey Mouse invites guests to Magic Kingdom for his magical parties that the whole family will love! Special treats, rare character meet and greets, castle shows, parades, and exclusive merchandise are just a few of the reasons why these parties should be on everyone’s must do list! Parties are open to all ages and are separate from general admission tickets. Tickets to attend only the party can be purchased. Costumes are encouraged but must follow Walt Disney World guidelines.

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival — August 30 – November 12, 2018
Guests visiting Epcot during the fall are in for a real treat! It’s always been fun to eat and drink around World Showcase, but Food and Wine Festival takes it to another level. With dozens of booths selling samples or savory dishes, beers, wines, liquors, and desserts, this global celebration of culture and food is not to be missed. Along with all of the delicious samples, guests can also attend classes and panels led by celebrity chefs and industry experts on a wide range of topics. After a full day of tastings and educational sessions, guests can opt to “Eat to the Beat” by attending a free open air concert featuring beloved bands and musicians performing their hits during intimate 45-minute sets. For the ultimate experience in gourmet cuisine, guests can purchase tickets to the lush and exclusive, Party for the Senses. Hosted only on festival weekends, this event showcases the talents of celebrity chefs and features the signature dishes Disney chefs prepare in their restaurants. Guests attending will sample some of the world’s best cheeses, meats, beers, and wines. If that’s not enough, guests can always run a half marathon as part of runDisney’s annual Wine and Dine Race Weekend in November. Guests must have tickets to Epcot to attend the festival and “Eat to the Beat” concerts. Separate tickets must be purchased for Party for the Senses and are limited to guests 21 years of age and older.
Epcot Festival of the Holidays — November 18 – December 30, 2018
World Showcase at Epcot is a wonderful mix of cultures and celebration of diversity. Each country has their own unique holidays and traditions and this festival is a great way for guests to experience what goes on around the world. Sample delicious cuisines from kiosks around World Showcase, learn how to wish someone a happy holiday in a different language, enjoy a Candlelight Processional, and make lasting memories with friends and family. The festival is open to all ages with Epcot admission.
Candlelight Processional — November 22 – December 30 2018
The holidays arrive early at Walt Disney World and it’s a good thing too! What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to listen to a choir sing carols and hear a celebrity narrator tell the Christmas story? Guests must have park tickets to Epcot to experience the processional. Three performances are offered daily and require no additional ticket. Guest also have the option to reserve a dinner package with guaranteed seating at the processional and reserved fireworks viewing for that evening.
Epcot International Festival of the Arts — January 12 – February 19, 2018
The Festival of Arts celebrates the many different forms and mediums that artists use to create art and share their passion with others. Whether guests want to tap into their creative side or enjoy others’ labor of love, this new event will have them inspired. Some of the highlights of this festival are the seminars, workshops, and exhibits hosted by artists and industry professionals. For those wishing to indulge their tastebuds, delicious food and beverage samples will be sold at booths all along World Showcase. Guests can also enjoy the “Disney on Broadway” concert series by attending one of three performances on select days. There is also the option to purchase a dinner package with guaranteed seating to one show. The Festival of Arts is open to guests of all ages, with Epcot park tickets.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival — February 28 – May 28, 2018
The Flower and Garden festival is a favorite of families. Hosted at Epcot, this springtime event has the park decorated with beautiful topiaries of favorite characters and gorgeous arrangements of plants and flowers. Home and garden experts and celebrities host classes and how-to seminars for guests looking to enhance their landscaping back home, or even just to figure out how to keep their plants thriving. Special food booths scattered throughout World Showcase sell samples of signature dishes, featured beers, wines, and liquors. The “Garden Rocks” concert series features three shows performed daily by favorite bands and musicians. Flower and Garden Festival is included with Epcot park tickets and is open to all ages.
Star Wars: Galactic Nights — May 27, 2018
This summer, the next “Star Wars Story” dubbed Solo will hit theatres. Not by coincidence, the Star Wars: Galactic Nights will also return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios around the same time. The latest special event will be held on May 27th from 7 p.m. to midnight and feature special characters, entertainment, experiences, and other treats.
