Book Review – Ms. Featherbon and the Holiday Helpers (Palace Pets Whisker Haven Tales)

ms-featherbon-and-the-holiday-helpersDisney’s Palace Pets adds another holiday to its Read-Along book series, Whisker Haven Tales: Ms. Featherbon and the Holiday Helpers. This Read-Along Storybook and CD set allows kids to have the story read to them as they follow along in this winter tale of friendship. With Ms. Featherbon as the title character, this story also allows more characters to have a moment in the spotlight than any that have come before it.

Sultan and Treasure are enjoying a winter magic carpet ride when they find Ms. Featherbon in trouble. She has too many friends to deliver presents to, so she gives all of the Palace Pets the power of flight so they can help her. But in the end, it’s a gesture of gratitude returned to Ms. Featherbon that makes this the best Winter Whisker Day ever.

While nondenominational perse, Winter Whisker Day is basically Christmas with Ms. Featherbon acting as a Santa Claus type. The narrated CD uses character voices, sound effects and music to tell the story and one of the melodies is even “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” But if there was any doubt, the green and red presents on the cover should have tipped you off.

Nearly every Palace Pet you can think of is featured in this story, including Sultan, Treasure, Petite, Pumpkin, Berry, and Dreamy. If your child loves Palace Pets, then Whisker Haven Tales: Ms. Featherbon and the Holiday Helpers is a great story for them that teaches a nice lesson about how it’s better to give than to receive.
