Magical Holiday Memories

Reader Greg was kind enough to send the following Disney Holiday Memory:
Hello Doobie and all! At LaughingPlace.com I am wdwgreggy, or just Greg, whatever you prefer... Anyways, I have a wonderful holiday memory to share.
Back in 1996, the week after Christmas, I was driving to Anaheim from Oregon, where I was going to school at the time. I was going to see a good friend whom I was in the Disneyland College Program with in 95, 96, and would be again in 97. I was bringing his girlfriend with me, whom he had also met in the College Program. What she didn't know was that she was about to get a wonderful and very memorable gift. We eventually made it to my friend's place, and got some much needed rest.
The next day, we all went to Disneyland with a couple other friends. When we arrived, we all started walking towards Toontown, specifically Mickey's house. Since I had worked in Fantasyland for the two previous summers, I went ahead of the group, telling them I was just excited to see if I could find any of my fellow Cast Members who I had worked with. I was really on a mission for my friend, however, and quickly slipped to the exit of Mickey's house and spoke to a CM. I gave him a couple of things, a few instructions, and then waited for my friends to arrive. When we were getting ready to see Mickey, the CM's were a little more energized and smiley than usual, and they took our group to the door. When we went in, Mickey walked to his table, reached behind his mirror, and gave my friend the flowers and engagement ring I had given at the exit. He got on his knee and proposed to his girlfriend there. We got it on tape and she couldn't even believe what was happening. The rest of that day was just incredible. The magic of Disneyland, the magic of the holidays, and the magic of true love... You just can't go wrong!
Magical Holiday Photograph #2 & 3
Throughout our month-long Magical Holiday Memory series we'll periodically
present a holiday picture that we consider Magical. If you have a Magical Holiday
Photograph of your own you'd like to contribute, please send it to [email protected].
Today's pictures, going along with the memory above, both come from Disneyland's Toontown. Rebekah took both of these pictures.
