Magical Holiday Memories

Reader Hope Maxwell from Bellingham, Washington sent in this incredible story and series of pictures. Along with her parents, Jim and Kathy, they really decorate her parents house with Disney for Christmas. I'll let her tell the story:
For the first 8 years of my life, Christmas at my house was what you would call normal. Our tree may have had a few more ornaments than the neighbors, and we did have a table full of snowmen that no one else had but it wasn't that bizarre. In 1984, my family moved into a new house. The first Christmas in the new house was a bit strange; my Dad spent the 24th finishing wallpapering the living room and the dining room. My Mom and I stayed up until about 2 putting up the Christmas tree; what would Christmas have been without one? The 2nd Christmas in the new house, we decided to be bold and put up two trees. One upstairs in the family room, one downstairs in the living room. By the 3rd Christmas in the new house, we got even bolder. We wanted to put up all of our Christmas decorations, and if it took more than 2 trees, well, we'd just have to put up another. By the time we were done, we had 24 trees.
It was sometime in the early 90's when we realized that we had enough Disney Christmas decorations to fill a tree, so we made a Disney tree. It was probably the next year, when we realized that we had enough ornaments and animated figures to decorate an entire room just Disney, so we did. It was only the hall, but no one else had a hall entirely decorated Disney.
In 1995, I got bit by the Disney bug. Bad. My Dad and I have a tendency to feed off each other's obsessions, so he got the Disney bug. Bad. He made a decision to buy Disney Christmas decorations only from then on. The next year, the hall wasn't big enough to hold the Disney stuff, so it went into a bigger room. By 1998, the Disney Christmas took over the biggest room, the living room. Then came the NFFC.
My parents, and my husband & I joined the NFFC in the summer of 1998. For the first time, we got to see exactly how far other people's Disney obsessions spread. And that prompted the question, "what would they think about the decorations?" My parents decided to host the 1999 Christmas party for our local NFFC chapter, and that required a whole new decorating strategy. The whole house needed to be Disney. This year my parents hosted the party again, and this year I was smart and took pictures.
