Freeform Unveils "31 Nights of Halloween" Schedule for 2026, Including the Premiere of "Coven Academy"

From classic Halloween stalwarts like "Hocus Pocus" and "Beetlejuice," to the premiere of "Coven Academy" and "Ghosbusters: Frozen Empire" – there's something for every kind of Halloween fan!

Freeform’s annual “31 Nights of Halloween” celebration returns this October with plenty of spooky favorites, along with the premiere of the new supernatural series Coven Academy.

What's Happening:

  • Freeform has announced its full schedule for the network's annual "31 Nights of Halloween" event.
  • The celebration kicks off with the October 1 premiere (at 8 p.m.) of Coven Academy, a new series which follows three teenage witches attending an elite magic school alongside some dangerously charming warlocks. As ancient supernatural conflicts and forbidden romances emerge, the young witches must determine how far they’ll go to protect themselves and their city.
  • Created and executive produced by Tim Federle, the series will tell its story through fast-paced, bingeable chapters. The complete season will arrive October 2 on Disney+, Hulu and Freeform on Demand.
  • Freeform will celebrate the films of Tim Burton on October 16 with a marathon featuring Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Dark Shadows and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • Plenty of monsters are joining the festivities as well, with Monsters, Inc., Monsters University, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and Frankenweenie all included in this year’s lineup.
  • Halloween staples including Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice, Casper and the Ghostbusters films will also return throughout the month.
  • This year’s event will additionally feature the Freeform premiere of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire as part of the month-long celebration.
