What Would Walt Do? Announces 100th Anniversary Logo Pin
What Would Walt Do, the independent, guest-driven recognition program for Disney Cast Members Announces the Release of its Recognition Pin Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Walt Disneys Birth
While new pin retains the classic oval shape of the Cast Member name badge, it is designed to capture the dash, creativity and exuberance of a man who spent his life thinking outside the box. It's noticeably different from the signature invented by cartoonists at the studio for public use. The replica was taken from a studio memo where Walt used red grease pencil to his initial his approval. It celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the man behind the company. It's just the right touch to tell a Cast Member that Walt would approve of the way they treat his Guests. We hope this pin, with its links to Walt, will mean even more to Cast Members.

Enlarged to show detail. Actual pin size 1" x 1/2"
There are other changes in the pin as well. We have gone to using Disneys own supplier this year. The quality of the pin is much better, with a higher-quality execution, cloisonné finish on a heavier pin base. It meets the high standards Disney has set for its own pins.
The color scheme was suggested by a man who grew up around Walt Disney, Michael Broggie. Last April, when asked Walt's favorite color to use on our pin to celebrate his centennial year, Michael replied, Red, white and blue.
Later, our research found this quote from Walt himself:
"If you could see close in my eyes, the American flag is waving in both of them and up my spine is growing this red, white and blue stripe."
The presentation card has been enlarged to make it easier to write in, and changed to white to commemorate the beautifully innocent kingdom that Walt gave to the world to thank the moviegoers for the company's success.

Actual size 3 1/2" x 4"
The text reminds us that both Disney brothers cared deeply about how their Guests were treated.
