Quick Bites Review: Guardians of the Galaxy-Inspired Awesome Plate Mix and Rocket Fuel Slush

It’s not very often a new “limited time” food offering comes out and I get excited. However, today is the return of Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!, bringing the new options at Liberty Inn and the Fife & Drum Tavern.

Last summer, when this show debuted, the Fife & Drum Tavern had limited drink options themed to GotG. But, after the show proved popular, it is returning, bringing some new food options. Today, I went for the Awesome Plate Mix (french fries topped with barbecue pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, bacon, and lettuce) and topped it off with the Rocket Fuel Slush (a frozen Coca-Cola slushy with grenadine).

I have to say not only was the Awesome Plate Mix a great option for a mix of tastes but the portion they give is (and should be) made to be split between two. The great combination of-of mac & cheese and bacon pieces is a given but the pulled pork really tops it off very nicely. But for me the most surprising part had to be the Rocket Fuel Slush. I have never been a fan of frozen Coca-Cola but, as I found out, add a little grenadine and — poof — it’s one of the most awesome things I’ve had to drink in a while!

At the Fife & Drum Tavern, the I Am Root float and Awesome Mix Slushy return with some new themed adult drinks.
