Disneyland Paris Run Weekend Recap (Part 2): A 10K as Lovely as a Disney Princess

Welcome to another recap of the 2019 Disneyland Paris Run Weekend. Let’s face it, if anything you’re just here for the pictures, right? I’ll throw in a little commentary because I just can’t help myself, but we both know reading about someone else’s race isn’t as great as experiencing your own.

Today we ran walked the Princess 10K and what a great day it was. We had perfect weather, and as luck would have it, we got to move up a corral to C! Fortunately, we were able to hit the course before runDisney Live starting giving updates on race finishers.

Pre-race warm up

The Genie surprised the runDisney commentators stationed at the finish line and help us runners start our day with warm up exercises. As we waited to hit the course, runDisney showed us trailers for some upcoming films you might have heard of: Maleficent: Mistress of Evil  and Frozen II . And then we watched the Disney+ trailer that always gives me chills! Is it November 12 yet?

Pre-race coverage feature more in corral interviews and I must say I am so impressed by how fluidly the runDisney team switched between French and English. I mean, they were seamless and left me wishing I was bilingual. Finally, we were on our way.

Princesses

For this princess race several of Disney’s famous regal ladies were out to pose for pictures and cheer the racers on. Among those along the route were Aurora, Raiponce (Rapunzel), Cendrillon (Cinderella), Viana (Moana), Ariel, and Merida. We missed pictures of Belle and Pocahontas, Jasmine, and Mulan were supposed to be out as well, but we didn’t see them.

My Thoughts

Once again, Disneyland Paris has one of my favorite runDisney courses. While the road gets narrow at points, the sights are just beyond compare. Plus, the Rapunzel-themed medal is gorgeous! From the lanterns on the lanyard to the purple glitter background, this one is a beaut.

I still have one more race to go, so check back tomorrow as I recap the Disneyland Paris Half-Marathon.
