TUDUM is an onomatopoeia for the sound you hear before every Netflix Original and on September 25th, it also became the name of a virtual global fan event celebrating over 70 projects that will be streaming now through 2022. Pronounced “Tuh-doom,” the core of TUDUM was a three-hour webcast featuring the stars and creators of new and returning shows and movies, but there was also nearly two hours worth of preshow content focusing on anime projects from Japan and content from Korea and India. Here is a comprehensive recap of everything announced, released, and revealed during Netflix’s first global fan event.

Movies

The Harder They Fall – In Theaters October 22nd, Streaming November 3rd, 2021

Actors Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this Black Western, featuring director Jeymes Samuel revealing his childhood love of Westerns and his discovery that there were Black heroes in the old west, creating a project that combines these real characters. He also expressed his excitement for the music in the film, with producer Jay-Z heavily involved in the project. During another segment of the full presentation about Netflix action films, Regina King and Zazie Beetz discussed the fight sequences in the film.

Army of Thieves – Streaming October 29th

The eagerly anticipated prequel to Army of the Dead is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who also stars as Ludwig Dieter. The trailer was released during TUDUM, which was accompanied by a substantial chat with members of the cast (Nathalie Emmanuel as Gwendoline, Ruby O. Fee as Korina, Stuart Martin as Brad Cage, Guz Khan as Rolph) and producers Wesley Coller, plus Zack and Deborah Snyder. One of the cool reveals is that Hans Zimmer requested to do the score because of his German heritage.

Red Notice – Streaming November 12th, 2021

Dwayne Johnson introduced the first clip from this action-adventure film, co-starring Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. “The FBI's top profiler, the world’s most wanted art thief, and the greatest conman the world has never seen,” reads the official description. Check out this awesome advance scene.

Bruised – Streaming November 24th, 2021

Oscar-winner Halle Berry stars and directs this film about a disgraced MMA fighter seeking redemption in the cage. During the full TUDUM presentation, fans got to see behind-the-scenes footage of the upcoming drama.

Don’t Look Up – Streaming December 24th

Director Adam McKay and Jennifer Lawrence introduced a new clip from the film that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Rob Morgan, and Jonah Hill about a comet on a deadly collision course with Earth.

A Través De Mi Ventana (Through My Window) – Streaming February 4th, 2022

Author Ariana Godoy introduced the cast of the feature film adaptation of her novel, which includes Julio Peña as Ares, Clara Galle as Raquel, Eric Masip as Artemis, Guillermo Lasheras as Yoshi, Natalia Azahara as Daniela, Hugo Arubes as Apolo, and Emilia Lazo as Claudia. Black Crab – Streaming in 2022

Actress Noomi Repace joined a panel of actresses starring in upcoming action films, giving fans a tease of the Scandinavian action thriller. The film takes place in a post-apocalyptic future and follows a team of six soldiers on a mission to deliver a package that could end the war.

The Old Guard 2 – Streaming in 2022

The eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Old Guard is coming next year and Charlize Theron joined a panel of actresses to talk about the physicality of her role as Andy. No plot details were shared, but we got to see some rehearsal footage from a fight sequence.

Extraction 2 – Streaming in 2022

A squeal to the 2020 blockbuster starring Chris Hemsworth was announced, revealing that Tyler Rake lives. Hemsworth is reuniting with the Russo brothers and Sam Hargrave on the sequel, which is expected to start streaming next year. A teaser was revealed and fans can join the conversation on social media using #RakeLives.

Murder Mystery 2 – Streaming in 2022

Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler joined together (with David Spade) to announce a sequel to Murder Mystery.

Interceptor – Streaming in 2022

Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge and Henry Cavill announced that they are returning to set in just a few days to film the sequel to Enola Holmes, expected late in 2022.

Danish author Søren Sveistrup discusses the upcoming debut of the television series based on his bestselling crime novel.

Inside Job – Streaming October 22nd

Magic Myc, a sentient mushroom, debuted the trailer for the new animated series about employees of the Deep State from Shion Takeuchi and Alex Hirsch of Disney’s Gravity Falls.

Colin in Black & White – Streaming October 29th, 2021

A first-look was released for the 6-part series directed by Ava Duvernay about the athlete’s upbringing and first attempt at sports through baseball.

Big Mouth – Season 5 Streaming November 5th, 2021

Nick Kroll unveiled the poster art for season 5 while doing voices from the show, including Rick, who apparently only watches Disney+ and hasn’t heard of Netflix.

Arcane: League of Legends – Streaming November 6th, 2021

Based on the video game phenomenon League of Legends, Netflix unveiled the trailer for the animated event series at TUDUM.

Cowboy Bebop – Streaming November 19th

John Cho plays Spike in the live-action series based on the classic anime. As a special treat, the series’ opening credits were revealed.

True Story – Streaming November 24th

Kevin Hart briefly plugged his new limited series, co-created with Eric Newman and co-starring Wesley Snipes. Netflix hasn’t released a trailer or clip yet, but this is the series description: “During a tour stop in his hometown of Philadelphia, one of the world's most famous comedians is forced to answer the question of how far he'll go to protect what he has.” During the full presentation, two still images were shown.

La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) – Part 5 Volume 2 Streaming December 3rd, 2021

The Witcher – Season 2 Streaming December 17th

Henry Cavill unveiled two clips from the highly anticipated second season, along with an official trailer. Producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich also announced that the series has been renewed for a third season and that Netflix has ordered a 2nd anime film and a kid-friendly spin-off series. Emily in Paris – Season 2 Streaming December 22nd

Stars Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and William Abadie got together at an outdoor cafe to pop a bottle of champagne and introduce the season 2 trailer.

Cobra Kai – Season 4 Streaming December 31st, 2021

Tanner Buchanan, Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Gianna Decenzo, Mary Mouser and Peyton List made a sketch where they had put the teaser trailer on a VHS tape and jumped through hoops to get it to TUDUM, with it getting destroyed in the process. Thankfully, Tanner had a digital backup, so you can see it now.

Bridgerton – Season 2 Streaming in 2022

Nicola Coughlan, Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran sat down to answer a few questions about the Emmy-winning series before offering a first look at the upcoming sophomore season.

Stranger Things – Season 4 Streaming in 2022

The Duffer Brothers joined stars Gaten Matarazzo and Joe Keery to release the third teaser for the upcoming 4th season, which introduces viewers to Grill House. We see a mid-century family living in the home back when it was new, but something strange and mysterious happened. Flash forward to the 1980s when our heroes enter the house to take a look around. What’s up with the clock in the attic?

Ozark – Season 4 Streaming in 2022

The 4th and final season of Ozark is coming next year and star Jason Bateman introduced the first look, in which Mary and Wendy are experimenting with a new hair mousse in a beauty shop they recently opened.

Sex Education – Season 4 Streaming in 2022

Stars Kedar Williams-Stirling and Ncuti Gatwa stopped by TUDUM to announce that the series has been renewed for a 4th season. Season 3 was recently launched on September 17th and Kedar shared that his favorite moment from this past season was getting to direct an episode.

The Sandman – Streaming in 2022

Author Neil Gaiman shared his excitement for the television adaptation of his graphic novels, showcasing production artwork and a few looks at the set. Cast members Tom Sturridge (Dream/The Sandman) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Death of the Endless) helped introduce the first clip. Fans looking for more should follow the official social media channels (@TheSandmanOfficial on Instagram and @Netflix_Sandman on Twitter) to be the first to see future updates.

Vikings: Valhalla – Streaming in 2022

Tiger King 2 – Streaming November 17th

Netflix teased a refresher of the events of season one along with the announcement of the release date of season 2.

Floor is Lava – Season 2 Streaming in 2022

Host Rutledge Wood revealed a new level coming in the second season, titled “The Haunted Attic,” while having stars of other Netflix shows play through the course. Another new twist in season 2 is that the top 2 teams from each episode will face off in a final level, which will involve a giant volcano.

Young, Famous & African – Streaming in 2022

This new reality series follows a group of young, affluent and famous meria personalities (Khanyi Mbau, Nadia Nakai Kandava, Naked DJ, Swanky Jerry, Andile Ncube, Diamond Platnumz, Annie Adibia) in Johannesburg. A teaser was shown during the full TUDUM presentation but has not been made available separately.

Soy Georgina (I Am Georgina) – Streaming in 2022

Bright Samurai Soul ( ブライト: サムライソウル) – Streaming October 12th, 2021

MIYAVI, the voice behind the villain Kouketsu, offered a brief behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming series.

Super Crooks (スーパー・クルックス) – Streaming November 25th, 2021

Based on comics by Mark Miller, the trailer was released alongside a conversation between the author and director Motonobu Hori. Miller talked about his work for Marvel and the MCU and about selling his company to Netflix, with Jupiter’s Legacy released earlier this year. The anime series is set in Japan and the presentation also revealed the voice of Johnny, Tsuda Kenjiro. In the 13-episode series, the comics are expanded, with only the final 3 episodes following the plot of Miller’s books.

Aggretsuko (アグレッシブ烈子) – Season 4 Streaming December 2021

A fur character of Retsuko helped introduce the new poster for the upcoming 4th season. At the end of the anime presentation, she turned into her angry red panda form, Aggretsuko.

Ultraman (ウルトラシリーズ) – Season 2 Streaming in 2022

Shinjiro Hayata, the Japanese voice of Ultraman, teased the upcoming second season, which finds the Ultra 6 brothers reuniting. A poster was revealed for the upcoming second season.

Drifting Home (雨を告げる漂流団地) – Streaming in 2022

Studio Colorido producer Koji Yamamoto revealed the trailer for the studios’ third feature film, Drifting Home, coming next year.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie (劇場版「美少女戦士セーラームーンETERNAL」) – Now Streaming

Released globally through Netflix on June 3rd, the full Anime TUDUM preshow included a conversation with the global voice cast of Usagi Tuskino. It included original Japanese voice actress, Kotono Mitsuishi, who originated the role in 1992 in the classic anime, and a few other voice actors who have been the only localized voice of Sailor Moon in their regions, Sabine Bohlmann from Germany and Patricia Acevedo from Mexico. Other artists included Stephanie Sheh (English), Agatha Paulita (Portuguese), Adelaida Lopez (Spanish – Spain), and Lucrezia Marricchi (Italian).

My Name (마이네임) – Streaming October 15th, 2021

A full action sequence from the upcoming series starring Han So-hee debuted, telling the story of a woman seeking revenge on a crime boss who murdered her father.
