Video/Photos: Freeform Halloween Road Returns to Los Angeles with Trick or Treating, Themed Photo Ops, More

Last year around this same time, the Disney-owned basic cable channel Freeform moved its annual haunted house event to Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles, transforming it into the innovative drive-through experience Freeform Halloween Road.

And this year Freeform Halloween Road has returned, but now in walk-through form, as guests line up to traverse the entirety of this fascinating location, encountering a variety of themed photo ops, trick-or-treat stations, and fun character interactions along the way.

Watch Freeform Halloween Road 2021 FULL WALKTHROUGH in Los Angeles, California:

Upon entering Freeform Halloween Road 2021, guests will find decorative haystacks, playful directional signage, and a helpful map of the experience.

The next thing you’ll encounter on your journey is a series of trick-or-treat stations, at which you can have your personal postcard-sized map stamped and receive a piece of candy to place inside the complimentary Freeform Halloween Road tote bag you’ll receive on the way in.

Guests will then start noticing an abundance of decor themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, including a “Pumpkin King” scarecrow, a giant Jack O’Lantern archway, and even the holiday tree nexus from the popular animated movie, which serves as one of the many photo ops featured in the experience.

More The Nightmare Before Christmas photo ops include the iconic moonlit hill scene, Dr. Finkelstein’s lab, and a cemetery where you’ll encounter Zero the ghost dog.

Hocus Pocus fans aren’t going to want to pass by the Sanderson Cottage, where they’ll encounter the famous Sanderson sister witches themselves. Plus, the zombie Billy Butcherson can be seen wandering an especially spooky graveyard nearby.

Next door is The Addams Family house, where Wednesday Addams and Uncle Fester will pose for socially distanced photos with guests.

There’s another house down the road dedicated to Ghostbusters, with the ECTO-1, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and a giant “No Ghosts” logo all placed outside.

Guests who chose the VIP ticket upgrade can enjoy a beer and wine garden next to the stage where the Hocus Pocus drag show takes place once every half hour.

Doubling back on the way out, don’t forget to stop by the Town Hall and Oogie Boogie’s lair from The Nightmare Before Christmas for more photo ops and even a couple chances to win fun Halloween prizes.

Freeform Halloween Road runs from now through the end of October at Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles. Although the event is completely sold out, you can find out more information at Freeform’s official website.
