20th Century Studios have found a new book adaptation to bring to the big screen.
What’s Happening:
- Deadline reports that 20th Century Studios are working on an adaptation entitled Children of the Jungle.
- The film is based on Mat Youkee’s non-fiction book Forty Days in the Jungle. It recounts the survival and rescue story of four Indigenous children who survived a plane crash and were left in the Amazon rainforest for 40 days.
- While the book recounts the survival story itself, it also adds cultural context, highlighting Colombia’s Indigenous community and their history.
- The book has yet to be released in America, heading to bookstores this April.
- Roberto Bentivegna is writing the script with Giannina Scott producing.
- No timeline has been released for the film’s start of production.
