Video: Tamron Hall Appears as Honorary Grand Marshal at the Magic Kingdom to Celebrate Black History Month

Walt Disney World's Celebrate Soulfully event ushers in special offerings for Black History Month.

Happy Black History Month! To kick off the month-long celebration at Walt Disney World, Emmy award winning journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall visited Magic Kingdom to help usher in the festivities.

What’s Happening:

  • Today, February 1, marks the first day of Black History Month.
  • Throughout Walt Disney World, the Celebrate Soulfully event brings in a multitude of offerings celebrating Black musicians, artists, and culture through music performances, exhibits, merchandise, and food and beverage opportunities at the resort.
  • To kick off the month-long celebration, Emmy award winning broadcast journalist, television host, and author Tamron Hall was invited out to Magic Kingdom to serve as Grand Marshal in a magical parade.
  • At about 3PM, guests along the parade route got to see the television personality as she made her way through the park with her family as they were accompanied by Disney characters and vibrant music.
  • Afterwards, Laughing Place had the chance to hear from Hall as she spoke about the importance of having her children with her at the Magic Kingdom and how important diversity and representation is for kids visiting the resort.
  • Emphasizing the power of “joy and love” as a unifier between people of all walks of life, Hall shared stories about the impact Princess Tiana waving at her son during a parade had on him.
  • She also shared her favorite Disney snacks and memories.
